Modifying a Google map

Once a Google map has been created, you can further modify it by accessing its shortcut menu wizard which is composed by a set of screens that are similar to the wizard screens used to create the Google map.

To modify a Google map after it has been created:

  1. Right-click the map and select Google Map Wizard from the shortcut menu to display the Google Map Wizard.
  2. In the Data screen, specify a new data source for the map if required.
  3. In the Group screen, specify the grouping criteria, and then the sorting direction of each group level for the map.
  4. In the Layout screen, specify the geographic data for the map by importing an XML file which contains some predefined geographic data including latitude and longitude for the specific object.
  5. In the Marker screen, select a group level from the Google Map box and specify properties of the marker.
  6. When done, click Finish to accept the changes.

See also Google Map Wizard for additional help about options in the wizard.

After finishing the modification, you can also apply some filter conditions to narrow down the records displayed in the Google map the same as you do for a table (for details, see Filtering the data). However, if the Google map is created on an HDS, the conditions you define in the Format Filter dialog will not be applied when the Google map runs due to the specialty of HDS. Therefore, if you want to filter the data displayed in such kind of Google maps, you need to make use of the dataset filter.
